Three Years & Still Posting

Today marks the three-year anniversary of Symplicity Me, the first blog I've managed to keep going.

I had completely forgotten about it last year...and the year before, I remembered the day after. To be honest, I nearly forgot this year too. It's only by an urge of feeling the need for change that I realised. So, to celebrate the big day, I decided that a slight makeover was in order. (Well, I was really going to do one anyway but realised it was the bloggerversary. So let's just say it's for that. Haha.)

I decided to a go for a simpler, lighter look this time around. Nothing fancy and colourful yet not something too plain. In the end, I came around to what you see now. There are still some similarities to what I had before but something about this one feels a little neater. I didn't bother to change the header photo because it's still as meaningful to me today as it was the day I made it and just as applicable to my life, if not more so. I think it blends in nicer with the new background anyway. :)

This blog has become pretty special to me over the past three years. I've said in posts before that I have a problem with keeping up with things and, even though I don't post as often as I'd like (I'll blame that on medical school), I'm still going at it.

May we still have more years of posting to come, yeah? :)

I'm fairly indecisive about a lot of things and doing vlogs on YouTube was one of those things. For an entire night I thought "Should I? Should I not?". Then it occurred to me: Why not see if others would be interested in it first? People may like to read what I type on my blog but maybe they may not be all so keen to hear me talk.

Either way, writing and talking are two different things. Not a single person has told me that they don't think I should give vlogging a try. This surprised me a little bit. I'm not really the most vocal, outgoing person around, not to mention, I'm the kind of person who lives happily behind a camera and is rarely in front of it...so, why did everyone think I could do well to be in front of a camera and make videos for YouTube? I still wonder.

Blogging and vlogging are like two different worlds. I love blogging. I remember when I first started off this blog I wasn't at all sure what I would write about but I decided to make one anyway. One and a half years later, here I am, still blogging and absolutely loving it. There's no real direction for the blog in the things I write about. It's all random stuff but it's helped me to become somewhat more expressive and I like that.

I don't know how vlogging will go...and I don't even know what I'll vlog about. I have a couple ideas so far. I'll do my best to make it not-so-boring. I've already uploaded a video from January. Something I did with a couple of friends in all boredom. I hope this vlogging thing goes well!

A Little Tweak Here & There

Recently, I've been feeling like changing up my blog's layout. And, as you can see, I have!

I like new things. (Who doesn't?) More specifically, I like changing up old things so that they look new again. That way, I'll never get tired of it.

Thankfully, Blogger came out with this nifty new Template Designer. So, I got to kill two birds with one stone. I tried out something new and changed up the year-and-a-half-old blog. As much as I love pandas, I got tired of the old panda image and made a lovely new header to commemorate the new look! A photo I took of one of Hong Kong's train stations while it was a bit empty.

Sunday, October 18th was this blog's first birthday! The first anniversary since the first blog entry. Ah such fond memories...Funny enough, this entry makes the first entry after the 100th. If this made the 100th entry instead of the 101st then that would be way cool but this works well too: the first entry after the bloggerversary!

It's a wonderfully happy [belated] bloggerversary to Symplicity Me! We made it through a year! *jumps for joy*

Unfortunately, in all my forgetfulness and, of course, lack of time, I've had no time to make up any pretty gifts/banners to celebrate the occasion. Oh well. It'll have to wait for next year! But this lovely photo will do for now =]

Opening Act

Soo, never used blogspot before...so I guess you could say I'm totally new to it =] Not totally new to the whole blogging idea at least! I've never really been one to keep up with blogs...I start one, continue for awhile..get bored...start another...I actually haven't had a blog in awhile. But every so often it's nice to have a little place of my own to come to where I can just vent a little or just be randomly random =D

I should really be studying right now. I haven't really studied for the day...how awful...instead I've been floating around the net and ended up doing this! But really...I need to study...
